Product Description
The most anticipated game of the year and the most ambitious Call of Duty® game ever, Call of Duty®: Black Ops II is coming to Wii U. Call of Duty: Black Ops II delivers the most groundbreaking and viscerally immersive Call of Duty® experience yet. Rooted in near-future fiction, the title propels players into a visual landscape in an epic single player campaign highlighted by branching storylines and non-linear missions; a re-imagined multiplayer that introduces players to some of the most cutting-edge weaponry and equipment that 2025 will have to offer; and punctuated with an all-new Zombies experience running in the multiplayer engine.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II on Wii U
- HD Experience: The title features the most advanced textures, lighting and shadowing systems in series history, all of which are on full display on Wii U.
- Second-Screen Gameplay: Utilizing Wii U’s second-screen experience with the Wii U GamePads™, Call of Duty: Black Ops II players can join the action in a full Call of Duty® experience from the second-screen. Plus, with the state of the art Wii Touchscreen, gamers can view multiplayer maps, call in score streaks and choose loadouts.
- Expanded Functionality: Players have the option of using Wii U’s split-screen functionality to use both the GamePad™ and the Wii U Pro controller. Wii U also supports up to four controllers, including the Nintendo Wii Remote™ and Nunchuck.
- Controller Choices: Use the GamePad touch screen to customize controls in real-time, or switch at any time to use another controller of your choice, including:
- Wii Remote
- Classic Controller Pro
- Game Pad
- WiiU Pro Controller
- All-New Create-A-Class: Create-a-class has been re-imagined, introducing players to a new “pick-10” allocation system, allowing an unprecedented number of combinations of create-a-class content. Players no longer have to take content from each category; instead, trade items from one category for extra items in another – any combination of 10 items makes almost anything possible.
- New Score Streaks: Score Streaks reward players for helping their team win the game: capturing flags, defending your teammate with an assault shield, getting kills and assists are all examples of actions that help your team win and thus give you score. Each action has a different value and can influence the theater of operations.
- eSports on Wii U via League Play: Competition is fun at any level, which is why Treyarch has introduced League Play, offering skill-based matchmaking and seasonal ladders. Play a small number of matches to get your skill rating, and from there, you’ll be placed into a division with players of similar skill. Keep winning and you’ll move up in rank – steady progress will move you up the ladder and into upper divisions. Skill-based matchmaking ensures that you are challenged but not out-gunned. League play is for everyone. Additionally, CODcasting is part of the mix, allowing fans to commentate their favorite games.
- Upgraded Weapons, Attachments and Equipment: Near-future warfare means upgrades in technology that soldiers will use in the field. Additionally, weapon perks are now built into the attachments.
- More Multiplayer: Call of Duty: Black Ops II on Wii U includes Challenges, Core & Party Game Modes, Custom Games, Combat Training, Theater Enhancements, Emblem Editor and Prestiging.
Zombies
The Biggest Zombies Experience to Date: Call of Duty: Black Ops II Zombies features three different ways to survive the zombie apocalypse. Unravel the mysteries of a dying Earth in Tranzit, fight endless waves of zombies in Survival mode, or compete in the new 4z4 last-human-standing mode, Grief.
Tranzit
1-4 player co-op in a large open world with a variety of locations. The new Buildables gameplay elements help players move through each area to find the key tidbits that reveal why they are there and what they must do to survive. All the while, public transportation is still operational, as a bus will regularly stop at each location. Zombies ride for free.
Survival
Recreating the classic mode of just purely surviving the shambling, incoming Zombie horde, Survival mode allows you to play 1-4 players co-op in specific locations from the much larger Tranzit area.
Grief
You and friends can take on up to 4 people in a team vs. Zombies vs. team scenario. 2-8 players are thrown in a situation to be the last humans standing.
MP Technology with Zombies: Call of Duty: Black Ops II features new and extensive stat tracking as well as leaderboards for bragging rights. New skill-based matchmaking system will allow players of the same ability to take on the horrors of the night in public game modes. For players that are looking for an extra challenge, Zombies features custom games: Headshots only, higher starting rounds, and toggling of extra items are all available.

First, the graphics have better detail than the PS3 and on is on par with the 360 (I own all 3 systems). The gameplay online is smooth, I did not see any difference in frame drops at all for the hours I've played the game. I havent played the campaign on the wii because I finished that part on a PS3, so I cant speak on how the game runs, but I will update when I do.
Being able to play Black Ops 2 on the Wii U controller is pretty awesome. It will take anyone a bit of time to get used to the controller since it has the analog sticks on top and the x,y,b,a buttons on the bottom. To reload, jump, go prone is kind of difficult to do just because i'm so used to the other controller layouts. But with time I'm sure it will get better.
Even though you can not take the controller too far from the tv, I was able to play 2 rooms away, so thats pretty good. black ops 2 looks pretty darn good on the controller screen and runs as smooth if not smoother than on the tv I kid you not. I also like that you can adjust the settings on the fly for the controller if in case the analog sticks are too sticky or too loose.
To sum it up, if you own the Wii U and have not picked up black ops 2, do so, you wont regret it. If you have multiple consoles, I'd say the Wii U version of Black ops 2 is the best out of the bunch.
If you're a fan of FPS's and have yet to play this game, I'm confident that you'll find this version the best one to buy, and I'm confident that you'll enjoy it.
Pros: *No split screen for 2 player (unless you like playing like that)
*The graphics are nice and crisp
*The gamepad is your best friend for this game
Cons: *Wii remote/Nunchuck is really bad (Unless you are use to it)
*You may need to go out and buy a Wii U pro controller (This is if you like the feel of a Xbox 360 controller)
*No Nuketown 2025 (Maybe in a update or being able to purchase it with Nintendo Eshop in the future)
*I have yet to play zombies or the campaign on this version
*UPDATE 2/2/13
-The campaign is fair at best
-The zombies part of the game is ok but I more of a team death match or domination person
-No DLC yet/No Nuketown 2025 (But however they did update the game that caused a glitch while knifing, running or throwing any type of item from your hand but it has not happened to me since the day of the day of the update)(Also they put in the peacekeeper calling cards by mistake as well and they are all unlocked)
**UPDATE 4/5/13
-Still No DLC and it is pretty much fair to say that most likely they will not release any at all for the wii u because uprising is coming out on the Xbox 360 on April 16th
-Some of the recent updates since then have made the MSMC a garbage gun thank goodness i had it almost gold before the nerf (Best SMG now is the MP7)
-My Wii U randomly crashed while playing this game and will no longer power on and I call Nintendo and they give me the run around so I listen and they tell me blah blah blah we will send you shipping label for UPS but if we notice anything out of the ordinary you will have to pay for it if you want your console back (so let me get this right even if I did not do anything to my system joe the tech guy that works for Nintendo that wants a raise or get ahead can say you did this and that so you gotta pay x amount of dollars to get your console back I am not taking that risk because Nintendo is out to make money not lose it I'm not dumb) and to add fuel to the fire Nintendo and Activision need to just part ways (Black Ops 2 is the only game that when I played it on my wii u it would sound like the disc was breaking inside the the console)so I really don't know who is at fault here is it Nintendo for not making the disc drive powerful enough or is it activision/treyarch for actually putting this game on this console knowing it will make your console explode (I will update this if i decide to get another wii u and black ops 2)
***Update 6/3/13
I sent in my Wii U power cord and they sent me a new one and the system has been working fine but now my black ops 2 disc is falling apart and im noticing more freezing because of it I may have to purchase another copy because I almost have diamond SMG's and Shotguns...Guns I need gold for diamond Chicom and S12...I also have some of the assault rifles gold MTAR, Type 25, AN-94, Scar-H and the M27...But if black ops 2 quits working I guess I will have to buy another copy maybe used unless its 29.99 again on here brand new I'll buy that
